Overview of Applied Arts Week
Applied arts was very enjoyable. Metalwork was good fun to try out all of the processes. Couldn't finish everything in time but thoroughly enjoyed it.
Applied Arts Work (Metalwork)
Experimenting with different processes to create different shapes and effects on the metal.
I like the different colours and shapes created through rolling out the metal.
This effect was created by putting the steel through a fly-press with spare nails placed underneath
Wooden cube with the processes and techniques nailed on
The effect of a blow-torch on metal - created different colour effects
Manipulating metal with a hammer and using mark-making

Overview of Fine Art Week
I found it interesting to use objects to create a composition, rather than simply studying from them. It made me work in a different way from what I'm used to.
Fine Art Work
We created our own compositions by tracing around and using found objects to paint and create different effects.
I created the above composition by mostly using half a peg repeatedly printed in different colours and patterns.
Overview of 3D Week
Learnt a lot about creating effective drawings with ink and card, and how different materials can be manipulated to create unique shapes.
